Protecting the health and safety of all employees is Porcupine Gold Mines first priority. The mining industry today is diversified and continually changing as new technology and practices are introduced. PGM must always be vigilant for new risks introduced into the workplace that have the potential to harm employees. Managing these risks and changing individual behaviour is a constant challenge in a diversified and multi-skilled workforce.
To achieve an injury-free workplace, Porcupine promotes a safety culture where every employee is encouraged to think safe, act safe, work safe and promote safety not merely as a part of their job but because they truly believe that safety is the right thing to do under any circumstance. Safety must be integrated into every facet of employees' work and home lives. PGM is continually developing new programs and systems to ensure a powerful safety culture.
