In the second half of 2009, mining of the Pamour Open Pit ceased and hauling of stockpiled medium grade material from the Pamour site to the Dome mill crusher commenced. A relatively small program of pit ramp recovery at the now inactive Dome and Pamour pits was initiated in 2010. Also in 2010, a campaign of waste dump sloping and vegetating was started at the Pamour and Dome sites to reclaim historical waste dumps.
A total of 55 operations and maintenance personnel are currently employed on the stockpile operations. A shovel, three loaders, two excavators and twelve 785 CAT haul trucks are utilized to move the stockpiled rock at Pamour, a distance of 12 kilometers along a dedicated haul road, to the Dome mill's crusher. In addition to the production units, two graders, two dozers, two water trucks, one mobile rockbreaker and a sand truck are used to maintain the haul roads and support the stockpile operations and reclamation work.
For 2011, the stockpile operations are budgeted to haul 3.18M tonnes resulting in a rate of 710 tonnes per day. Average grade of the hauled stockpile material is 0.86 gpt and will contain 87,883 ounces of gold. In the third quarter of 2011, the medium grade stockpile at Pamour is scheduled to be depleted and hauling of the low grade stockpile at the Dome site will commence.
